Fix DISM Errors 2, 3, 11, 87, 50, 87, 112, 1726,1393 or 0x800f081f

Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool is often a requirement before running System File Checker. DISM will use Windows Update to provide any files that are needed to fix corruptions. Without it, System File Checker, or sfc /scannow, may not work properly. Should you receive an error while executing DISM, you have a problem. Here's how to fix that.
You could be seeing any number of error codes including 2, 3, 11, 87, 50, 87, 112, 1726,1393 or 0x800f081f.
Begin by opening PowerShell as admin.
For the first step, you should disconnect from the internet and type in dism.exe /image:C: /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions to reset all pending tasks including Windows Updates.
Note: If the above step does not work, try "dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions"
Next, type in dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup to clean up the Component Store. The Component Store is used to support customizing and updating Windows.
Reboot into Safe Mode, open PowerShell as admin and run sfc /scannow.
Finally, reboot again to normal mode and type in dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and DISM should work correctly now.
