AES Protect is a suite of three programs; AES Protect, AES Metal and AES Command. Each is designed to encrypt files with a passphrase.
AES Protect is portable, (no installation needed) has a clean, easy to understand interface. Select the file you want to encrypt and the filename and folder for the encrypted file, followed by the passphrase to decrypt it later. The passphrase has a counter to make a note of how many characters you're using.
Encrypting only takes seconds as well as decrypting.
As mentioned, all three of his related apps are included. However, most will only need AES Protect. Here are the three included programs:
AES Protect is for everyday file encryption with a passphrase
AES Metal is for research purposes or specialized applications
AES Command is the above two combined but without a GUI. It is command-line driven
AES Protect works similar to other decryption software, and it hits all the checkpoints; it's small, fast, portable and free. The added two apps add geek factor that others lack.
