CryptoPrevent provides a robust anti-virus/anti-malware software that bridges the gap present in most traditional security solutions by protecting against new and emerging ransomware as well as other forms of malicious software threats.
It began as a specific option for locking down Windows OS to prevent infection by the Cryptolocker malware or ‘ransomware’ - this strain encrypts personal files and then offers decryption for a paid ransom. CryptoPrevent will still artificially implant group policy objects into the registry specifically to block executables in certain locations from running. Note, that because the group policy objects are artificially created, they will not display in the Group Policy Editor on a Professional version of Windows — but rest assured they are still there. But now is much more of a comprehensive solution that can fully co-exist alongside other existing anti-virus/anti-malware software.
CryptoPrevent creates no detectable impact on normal system performance or overly any time-consuming maintenance. It is set up to be easy-to-use requiring no specialized user knowledge for usage.
Existing copies of CryptoPrevent will continue to provide the current protections as expected, but will not update beyond version 22.214.171.124, the final update for the free edition.
