ProgramEdit (PgmEdit) is a free source code editor and ASCII text editor.
ProgramEdit is simple enough to use like other text editors, although the navigation bar is a little cluttered with a lot of icons. That said, it is okay for those who prefer to use most features from the top navigation bar instead of going to File, etc. and most of the icons are simple enough to figure out at first glance.
You can find plenty of Help links in ProgramEdit. All of the help files are links to the author's website, and we prefer to see help built-in.
Feature-wise, we could go on forever. Some of the many features include drag-and-drop file loading and text editing, tabbed and sorted-list file selection, hundreds of files open at once, hex viewer for binary files, Find, Find All, Replace, Replace All, regular expressions, column editing, and much, much more.
As mentioned, we have many free text editors available on MajorGeeks, but ProgramEdit is very simple to use and has some unique features we think you will appreciate.
