Api-Ms-Win-Core-Libraryloader-l1-1-1.Dll Is Missing From Your Computer
By Timothy Tibbetts |
api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-1-1.dll is missing from your computer is an error known to appear when upgrading to Windows 10, especially when using the Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant. Luckily, this is a really simple fix. Here's how.
The full error reads "The program can’t start because api-ms-win-core-libraryloader-l1-1-1.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem," but that isn't accurate as reinstalling a program is most likely not the solution.
Those who know how to copy and paste or drag and drop simply need to get wimgapi.dll from C:WindowsSystem32 and copy that to the C:Windows10Update folder. That's it!
You will receive a prompt to overwrite wimgapi.dll when copied.
Those who need further assistance can open File Explorer and navigate to C:WindowsSystem32 and find wimgapi.dll. Right-click on wimgapi.dll and select copy. Now go to the C:Windows10Update folder and right click and select paste.
You can use keyboard shortcuts as well by using CTRL+C to copy and CTRL+V to paste. If you like using keyboard shortcuts, be sure to read Here Are All the Copy, Paste, General, File Explorer and Windows Logo Keyboard Shortcuts Available in Windows.
You will need to restart the upgrade process but the files you have are cached, and it won't take much longer than normal.
