Chromium Microsoft Edge - Stop Asking Where to Save Downloads and Change Download Location
By Timothy Tibbetts |
By default, the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge will save downloads to the Downloads folder and ask you where to save a file every time. In this guide, we show you how to change the default download folder and how to stop Edge from asking you where to save every time.
Type in edge://settings/downloads in the address bar.
Optionally, you can click on the three dots in the top-right corner and click on Settings. Click on the three lines in the top left corner and click on Downloads.
To change your download location, click on Change, and File Explorer will open to allow you to select a folder.
To stop Microsoft Edge from asking where to save each download, uncheck Ask where to save each file before downloading.
That's it.
