Convert Text to Speech With Notepad
By Timothy Tibbetts |
Notepad is a popular, yet no-frills text editor that has always been included with Windows. But, Notepad has a few "hidden" tricks. Yet another one of these tricks is the ability to convert text to speech.
Open NotePad. Copy and paste the following:
Dim message, sapi
message=InputBox("What do you want me to say?","Speak to Me")
Set sapi=CreateObject("sapi.spvoice")
sapi.Speak message
Save your text document as a Visual Basic script. For example, Text to Speech Notepad.vbs.
Double-click the VBS file you created.
Enter any text you want where you see What do you want me to say?
