By Timothy Tibbetts |
Microsoft continues to break search, this time breaking Windows Search while we wait for them to fix File Explorer Search. Here's a quick fix to get your Search back online.
Optionally, we've created the registry files you need if you're not comfortable editing the registry.
Open the Registry Editor and enter:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search
in the search bar at the top.

Double-click on CortanaConsent and change the Value data to 0 if it isn't already.
Right-click on a blank spot in the right windows and select New > DWORD (32-bit Value).
Name the new DWORD BingSearchEnabled and again verify the Value data is 0.
Reboot.
