How to Turn Taskbar Notification Icons On or Off in Windows 10
By Timothy Tibbetts |
On the lower-right corner of your screen, you can find many icons for programs that run on Startup and more. In this tutorial, we show you how to remove or to add Taskbar or System icons.
Any program you or the computer manufacturer installs could add a Taskbar notification. You can uninstall the program, disable Startup in the options of the program, or use a free app like CCleaner to delete or disable taskbar notification.
And, of course, you can enable or disable Taskbar notification in Windows 10 settings.
It's important to note that you will only remove the taskbar item, not the program or its action. For example, if you remove the Location notification, you still need to disable location services. If you remove a program icon, that program will still run on startup.
Right-click near the Taskbar, and click on Taskbar settings.
You can also click on Start > Settings > Personalization > Taskbar.
There are two places to look:
Select which icons appear on the taskbar
Most apps and programs, including Windows apps, can be found here, including Task Manager, File Explorer, and Windows Security.
Turn system icons on or off
These are system icons only including Action Center, Microphone, Clock, Volume, Network, Power, Input Indicator, Location, Touch Keyboard, Windows Ink Workspace, and Touchpad.
Toggle any setting On or Off. For the first option, you can also turn all icons on or off at once.
