What Does Ship Mean?

You might have seen people use the slang Ship, Ships, or Shipping on the internet and wondered what they mean?

Ship is a slang word that is short for Relationships.

Ship is a "newer" slang term that first appeared on the Urban Dictionary in 2003.

Ship is often used to show your support for a relationship to develop, often between fictional characters on a movie or television program, for example. While many slang terms change or evolve, the only real difference in ship is that the word is now used for any relationship, real or fictional.

Finally, many slang terms make it into real life, so sadly, you might even hear someone use the word ship to describe someone's relationship.

Of course, ship also refers to large seagoing vessels, but as a slang word, one might refer to a large vessel as a yacht or something similar.
