SMTH is a simple way to shorten "Something."
You might see this on social media, text messages, and anywhere people message.
Like many contractions, SMTH started somewhere in the 1990s or 2000s on bulletin boards, Internet Relay Chat, and again, anywhere people message each other.
It continues to be used today and entered the Urban Dictionary in 2004.
