How to Uninstall a Printer Driver in Windows
When you
remove a printer
in Windows, the driver remains installed. In this tutorial, we show you how to uninstall your printer drivers.
Video tutorial:
1: Uninstall a Printer Driver in Windows in Settings
If you installed printer software, you should be able to remove the software in
Settings > Apps
or use an uninstaller like
IOBit Uninstaller
.
You can also go to
Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners
.
Click on
Print server properties
.
Click on the
Drivers tab
.
Click on
Change Driver Settings
.
Click on your printer, and click on
Remove
.
2: Uninstall a Printer Driver in Windows in Print Server Properties
Press the Windows Key + R, type in
printui /s /t2
and press Enter.
Click on your printer and click on
Remove
.
3: Uninstall a Printer Driver in Windows in Printers Folder
Press the Windows Key + R and type in
explorer shell:::{2227A280-3AEA-1069-A2DE-08002B30309D}
.
Right-click on a blank area, and click on
Server properties
. The following steps are the same as above.
Click on the
Drivers tab
.
Click on
Change Driver Settings
.
Click on your printer, and click on
Remove
.
4: Uninstall a Printer Driver in Windows in Control Panel
Open the Control Panel and click on
Devices and Printers
.
Click on your printer and click on
Printer server properties
.
The following steps are the same as Step 1 and Step 2.
Click on the
Drivers tab
.
Click on
Change Driver Settings
.
Click on your printer, and click on
Remove
.
