AVG Remover for Win32/Neshta is a portable app to scan, report, and repair the Win32/Neshta virus.
As with all viruses and malware, you will often find numerous strains. For example, this one could also be detected as W32/Bloat-A (Sophos) Virus.Win32.Neshta.a (Kaspersky) W32/HLLP.41472.e (McAfee) W32/Neshta.A (Panda) W32.Neshuta (Symantec) PE_NESHTA.A (Trend Micro), according to Microsoft. It's been around since 2006.
Once you run this portable app, it automatically begins scanning without prompts, so be sure to Run as administrator. It will try to find and heal the infected files. If a virus is found, you'll be asked to restart your computer, and the infected file will be repaired during startup.
You can also select or highlight files if numerous infected files are found and track your progress by marking them as "OK," "Infected," or "Can't Clean." Other settings include copy, rename, and delete any selected files. A help file is also available.
Once the scan has completed, you are asked to reboot, and optionally you can save a log file. If you don't reboot, the log file isn't saved.
