Blizzard Battle.Net is the game downloader for Blizzard games, including World of Warcraft, Diablo III, StarCraft II, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, Overwatch, Destiny 2, and other Classic Games.
Battle.Net used to have individual downloaders but replaced that with their client. As a general rule, for some reason, people tend to rate all of these downloaders poorly, but we disagree. Steam is a good example. While it used to be a real turd, it's come a long way and is required by gamers. Of course, the needed part might be why people downrate these apps. Who knows? We've been using Battle.Net for over 15 years just for World of Warcraft. Wow, we're old.
The one thing that seems to be missing is some of the free classic games. While you can find Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone under Shop, others appear to be missing, possibly because the older games might be difficult to run on modern computers.
The client is uncluttered and straightforward to use. All available games can be found on the left, and across the top, you can go to Games, Social, Shop, and News. You can chat, keep up with the latest news, view your profile, available gifts, account settings, and of course, buy games.
Love it or hate it, Blizzard Battle.Net is required for tens of millions of gamers.
