DiskPart GUI Micro adds a GUI to Microsoft DiskPart, a free Microsoft PowerShell app to format and create partitions before installing Windows.
DiskPart GUI is a portable app that will use cmd.exe and diskpart.exe from the Windows > System32 folder.
While the Windows setup can format and prepare a drive in most cases, there are times when you need to format a drive properly for your needs.
There are two tabs; Basic and Advanced.
The basic mode allows you to select a disk, boot mode, BIOs or MBR, recovery partition size, etc.
Advanced mode has three options; erase all, convert to GPT, and create the Windows partition. For most situations, you don't need to touch the settings in the advanced section.
Use DiskPart GUI Micro at your own risk, as with any formatting app. Deleting or modifying drive partitions will render your hard drive useless except to reinstall Windows. A help file is available with the download if you need instructions.
