Flashnotes is a quick note-taking application that resides in the tray.
It is indeed a small application and only uses about 3 MB of system memory. They are very clear that this isn't a notepad replacement. Instead, when you want to jot something down, clicking on alt+s opens Flashnote and when you're finished, click Esc to close it. It was straightforward to use once installed, and we can see the value for anyone who needs to take down notes during the day.
Flashnote is ready to roll as mentioned above. However, there are some options that might help you as well. For example, you can have multiple databases and switch between them, backup, synchronize, export, search, capture, and even set a password.
General options include everything from checking for updates, interface, hotkeys, custom database locations, when to autosave, default names, and more.
Flashnote is so easy to use once installed and yet includes enough option to suit anyone's note taking needs. You won't believe it's free.
