Flying Carpet enables wireless, encrypted, cross-platform file transfers over automatically configured ad hoc networking.
Flying Carpet requires no network infrastructure (access point, router, switch). All you need are two machines (Mac, Linux, and Windows supported) with wireless chips in close range.
Flying Carpet is the perfect solution when you don't have a flash drive or access to a trusted wireless network and need to transfer a file larger than 2GB between different filesystems without setting up a file share.
Flying Carpet Features:
Transfer multiple files at once without losing progress if the transfer is interrupted or canceled
Speeds over 120 MB (with laptops close together)
Does not use Bluetooth or your local network, just wireless chip to wireless chip
Files encrypted in transit
Large files supported (<10 MB RAM usage while transferring a 4.5 GB file)
Interoperable GUI and CLI versions
