Kitten Player is a basic music player based on foobar2000 that allows you to view, arrange and download tracks from YouTube.
Kitten Player has a minimalist interface that's easy to navigate. One of its most significant promises is the ability to download and play YouTube videos, and that's rarely as simple as it sounds. After all, YouTube isn't in the business of having you download their videos for offline use and frankly, we don't blame them. So, it came of little surprise when direct downloading of videos by URL's failed for us. A search is also available, and that's pretty slick. Typing in "YouTube MajorGeeks" brought up the entire MajorGeeks YouTube channel and all of our videos.
Of course, keep in mind that Kitten Player is a music player, not a video player. Using the search we were able to download and play YouTube video... audio.
Kitten Player can create and save playlists by adding files or directories.
Kitten Player works as a simple audio player adding the unique ability to download audio from YouTube. We enjoyed this feature, but as always we have to cry when we don't see a portable version. It's just over 1MB. I mean, how can you beat that?
