MiniDoom 2 is the sequel to MiniDoom, taking the Doom franchise and reimagining it as a side-scrolling 2D platform game.
Everything reminds you of Doom as you get started from the setup and options to the storyline. You can easily set up your keys, making it simple to get started. Right away, the game is just fun and polished from the movement to the controls. The colors and graphics are professional, and while the gore is there, it remains more cartoonish in style. You'll forget this was an indie developed game. Along the walls, you will notice tips. The simple thing like how to exit a door, throw a grenade, and more.
Mini Doom II features 17 levels and two new bosses as well as 14 weapons you'll recognize from the Doom franchise, plus secret weapons. Don't forget the music. This indie game features over 40 minutes of metal and ambient music, plus renditions of the classic “At Doom’s Gate” theme. There are secrets, upgrades, and mysterious artifacts to discover and unlock. We found one such hidden area early on in the gameplay.
Finally, similar again to the original Doom, there are five levels of difficulty and four game modes from the inexperienced rookie to the demon-slaying hardcore gamer that has walked the planes for a million years.
Mini Doom II will be enjoyed by fans of Doom or side-scrolling arcade games, which should cover just about everyone.
