MotoGT is a top-down, old-school motorcycle racing game with 15 bikes and a career mode.

Win races and championships and you will gain experience to improve your bike and unlock some extra features.

It does a great job of expanding upon the old school style racing games with retro graphics but also adding in smoke, skid marks and more. The physics are a little more complicated than the old top-down games without ruining the experience. For example, if you go off the track, the bike is slowed down until you get back on the track. Crashes are possible and even a little fun.

The game is in beta and incomplete but still plenty of fun to be had in its current state. It's possible that the author is done with development as the source code was released and a MotoGT 2 was promised.
