Repairs Windows XP Help and Support will repair your Repairs Windows XP Help and Support if it won't open.
This fix is specifically aimed at those who can't open XP support with no error message, just a brief change of the mouse cursor to an hourglass.
This VB Script will restore the associations for Windows® XP Help and Support that Easy Cleaner removes.
To use: Download the fixwinxphelp.VBS file and save it to your hard drive (you may want to the right click and use Save Target As). Double-click the fixwinxphelp.VBS file. You will be prompted when the repairs have been completed. This script can be viewed in Notepad or any text editor, as to the specific Registry key and value that is updated.
Based on original work by MS-MVP Bill James for Windows ME.
The script now checks to see what the Windows XP install location is and no longer assumes that its "Windows." Thanks to MS MVP Allan Grossman for bringing this to my attention.
May also work in Windows ME as the original program was designed for that.
