TCP/IP can sometimes become damaged or corrupted. You can reset TCP/IP to its original state by using Reset-TCPIP.
Having internet connection issues can be a real headache. TCP/IP is a core component of Windows and can sometimes become corrupted and not so easy to fix. There are some really bad malware and virus infections that can intentionally break your internet connection leaving your internet still broken after cleaning your machine. A good example is some of the malware that can hijack your computer and try to get you to call and pay hundreds of dollars to “repair†your computer when in fact all that was done was your internet connection was hijacked to force you to call. Reset-TCPIP is completely portable and has few options that you need to concern yourself with, as seen in the screenshot below. If I was using this tool I would simply run the tool, click on apply and let it reboot. It will renew your IP, clear the cache, reset your TCP/IP, repair the Winsock and reboot for you.
