VCL Video Poker is a small, freeware program designed to practice your video poker skills.
VCL Video Poker is very small and requires installation. Overall the graphics are bright and straightforward, and the game is easy to play. Enter will deal cards, and a click of the mouse decides which card(s) to save. The up and down arrows also change your bet. Because the mouse is used, it's not as intuitive as we like. A Deal button would work here so that you're not going between the mouse and keyboard. The enter key is also used to collect or double down.
Overall, VLC Video Poker is a decent poker simulator. It's not flashy, and there's only one game, so it falls short of practicing for casino video poker, but in theory, it does work There are also no sounds, but it stays under 2MB, so VLC Video Poker is well worth the small download.
