Windows Quick Boost is a free, portable tweaking utility with 14 commonly used tweaks designed to improve system responsiveness.
Windows Quick Boost isn't for the hardcore geek wanting to apply hundreds of possible settings but more geared towards anyone wanting to implement a handful of standard tweaks with the ability to revert easily. Its primary goal is to improve responsiveness.
Windows Quick Boost has an easy to read gray and white interface with mouse over descriptions for each tweak. Because of this, no help file is included, nor needed.
Here are the current tweaks:
Add "Copy to" and "Move to" into the context menu Auto end tasks Hung app timeout Menu show delay Wait to kill app timeout Low-level hooks timeout Mouse hover time No low disk space checks Link resolve (stop searching for missing programs) No resolve search and no resolve track No internet open with Wait to kill service timeout
While you can restore defaults, you can only restore everything. A nice feature might be for applied tweak boxes to change color so you can check or uncheck them.
Windows Quick Boost addresses many things that cause your computer to slow down or pause and should be able to speed up any computer.
