µNote is a portable note taking application designed to be a lightweight Notepad replacement with autosave. Cobbler, by the same author adds encryption.
On the first run, you are presented with copy and paste option, which are the standard option you are probably familiar with except for Ctrl+E to locate a file, Ctrl+T to change the theme, F5 to insert the date, and F1 to show help.
µNote has no save options. Anything you write is automatically saved in a folder called µNote_data. There are no options for multiple notes, folders or much of anything else. While this might seem like a negative, that's precisely what the app was written for; to keep a single note available with autosave. µNote does keep a live character count available.
µNote delivers on the promise to be small, lightweight and keep track of a single note for you without needing the more bloated Notepad.
Evernote is a note management application that offers you a single place for the organization, easy input and quick retrieval of all types of notes and clippings.
